i was going to do the chalk board wall in our youth room, and i had heard a lot about the chalk dust and cleaning issues. i found a new clear coating system that allows you to paint ANY surface as long as the paint is not a full gloss,and you can use the clear coat to turn the wall into a dry erase board. So far it has been a HUGE hit and is super easy to clean and doesn’t leave chalk dust everywhere. i painted the wall a blue and then put a horizontal 6ft white stripe all the way across it so you could tell where you could write with the markers.
