  2. Dear beloved,

I was hoping you can help me understand and reconcile some scriptures.

I have been studying the work of John Wesley and John Fletcher also reading books such as “Holiness and Power by Aaron Merrill Hills,” “Love enthroned by Daniel Steele,” “Sanctification by Beverly Carradine.”
They all identify entire sanctification (love made perfect) with the promise of the Father which is the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is being filled with all the fullness of God.

In Ephesians 1:13, Paul says having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise; then he goes on to tell the believers in Ephesus to “put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to your deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”

A question, “if they were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, shouldn’t they be perfect in love? Shouldn’t they be wearing the new man which is created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness?

I hope to hear back from you.

    Your loving brother in Christ.
