Epiphany, celebrated by Christians in the West on January 6th, is observed corporately on the Sunday before the actual date. It is the date that commemorates the manifestation of Jesus as the Son of God, marked by the visit of the Magi and in some traditions, Jesus' baptism in the Jordan river.
