The fatal presupposition of much middle way thinking is that grace and truth are on the opposite ends of a continuum and that our task is to find some compromise in the tension between them. In Jesus’ way of thinking grace and truth are one thing.
Everyone clamors to find a “middle way” these days. I’m afraid that’s just another way of defining the broad path.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives us the fullest revelation of who God is and what God is like and thereby changes the way we see ourselves.
Asking, seeking, and knocking renounces unbelief, requires humility, crucifies pride, forges persistence, animates patience.

The grave problem with carrying a spirit of judgment is that the carrier is usually the last to know.
We often judge other people because it is easier to compare ourselves to the faults we find in others than it is to aspire to the greatness we see in them.
Seeking first the kingdom of God means: “Let God have the sole dominion over you. Let him reign without a rival.”
Worry fosters practical atheism. Worry robs us of joy. Worry foments a scarcity mentality. Worry blinds us to abundance. Worry compounds insecurity. The list could go on . . .
