What if Earth is filled with Heaven and everything our eyes see is infused with a spiritual quality only perceptible to those united with Christ, infused with the Holy Spirit?
The Bible was not written for the Ephesians (or the world for that matter) but so the followers of Jesus in Ephesus could become so irresistibly like Jesus that the world would follow him too.
Discipleship means learning to be “carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
Small is the new big. God doesn’t do in a big way what he first doesn’t do in a lot of small ways.
We must remember that the journey of awakening, though often romanticized by history, is anything but romantic or nostalgic.

To travail in prayer is to stand in the gap between the kingdom of God and the kingdom of the world.
Our calling is to press on beyond adolescent faith and grow up into the maturity of love, which is nothing less the fullness of Jesus Christ.
We can pray for signs and wait for wonders as though these were the markers that what we were looking for had finally happened. Or we could move in faith.
Nothing is impossible with God. Let’s call this the banner of awakening.
Our imaginations must be discipled by the Word of God and the Spirit of God that we might learn to see the vision of awakening coming on the horizon.
