Greetings from the Soul Care Collective Steering Committee!
This weekly post includes a brief word about personal soul care from one of our amazing Soul Care Collective authors and will include an exercise for you to use at home to deepen your connection with God and nourish your soul. Consider this your invitation to stop, breathe, and take a moment to meet with God at the end of a busy week. We hope you enjoy it.
We all, at some time or another, experience loss and grief. This may take the form of the death of a loved one, or it may simply be grief over something that was lost. Meeting Jesus in the garden can help us grieve well and give our pain over to Him. The following Weekly Breather exercise comes from our friend, Laura Beach, and her ministry with Equipping Lydia. For more information about this ministry, visit their website here.
In the Garden with Jesus
As you take long, deep breaths in and out:
Imagine yourself at the tomb of something that has died or been lost in your life.
Wait at the tomb.
Jesus approaches you.
Can you receive him?
Linger there in the garden with Jesus.
What does he say?
What does he do?
When you are able, pray out loud, journal, or draw this prayer experience.
Can you offer a prayer of response?
Scriptural Reflections:
