I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me.
Save me, O Lord, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.

TEXT

Mark 12:7-12 (NRSV)

But those tenants said to one another, “This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.” So they seized him, killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.

The Kingdom of God is the most radical conception ever presented to the human race and it is the most secular–“may thy kingdom come and thy will be done on earth.” It meant nothing less than the replacement of this present unworkable world order, founded on greed and selfishness and exploitation, with God’s order founded on love and service and mutual aid.

Declare

“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying:

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.
Revelation 11:15-17
