That was a brief tidbit. The Psalms have been my prayer book for years; probably 40 years. The trials of my life have forced me to grasp for common ground in the scriptures with the deep emotional fissures of my life. Having lost an 18 year old daughter due to a shot in her back by a 22 hollow point magnum (she only lasted 6 hours). Then 10 years later the sudden death of my wife of 25 years, due to a massive aneurysm which took her life suddenly within less then an hour (She was only 48). Through many other horribly wrenching experiences I have found that the Psalms corresponded to the dark valleys I was traversing and resonated as they lead me from my grief and dismay to the LORD in ways unusual yet healing.
