Psalm 97

1The Lord reigns, let earth be glad, and let the distant shores rejoice;
2Clouds and darkness do surround Him; righteousness in Him finds voice.
Right and justice are foundations of His throne, with Him abide;
3Fire does go before Him and consumes His foes on every side.

4Lightning from Him lights the world; the earth does tremble when it sees;
5Mountains melt like wax before Him, Lord of all the earth and seas.
6Heav’ns proclaim His righteousness, and peoples all His glory see;
7All are shamed who worship idols; worship Him, you gods, humbly!

8Zion hears and does rejoice, the towns of Judah all are glad
because of Your judgments, Lord; the victory that You have had.
9For You are exalted far above all gods that have no worth;
You, O Lord, are God the Most High here and over all the earth.

10Let those who love God hate evil, for He guards the lives of those
who are faithful, and delivers them from hand of all their foes.
11Light is shed upon the righteous; joy on those upright in heart;
12Be glad in the Lord, you righteous; praise to His name do impart.
