Psalm 24

Julie Tennent

1The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains,
The world and all those within its domains.
2He founded it on the great seas by His hand,
Established it firm on the waters to stand.

3O, who may ascend the hill of the Lord
Or stand in the holy place of our God?
4The one with clean hands and pure heart without stain,
Who lifts not his soul to an idol in vain.

The one who won’t swear with falsehood and lies
5will blessing receive from the Lord Most High.
The God of salvation will vindicate him;
6All those, who like Jacob, do seek after Him.

7O lift up your heads, you doors and you gates;
To enter, the King of glory awaits.
8This great King of glory, O who can He be?
The Lord, strong and mighty in battle is He!

9O lift up your heads, you doors and you gates;
To enter, the King of glory awaits.
10This great King of glory, O who can He be?
The Lord, strong and mighty in battle is He!

1The earth and the riches that in it are stored,
The world and its dwellers belong to the Lord.
2For He is the One who first caused it to stand,
And up from the seas He established the land.

3O who can the path to the Lord’s mount ascend?
And who in the place of His holiness stand?
4The man of pure heart and of hands without stain,
Who swears not to idols, nor worships what’s vain.

5Yes, he from the Lord shall a blessing obtain;
And from God his Savior, he’ll righteousness gain.
6Thus looking to Him is a whole blessed race;
All those who, like Jacob, are seeking Your face.

7O gates, lift your heads! Ancient doors, lift them high!
The great King of glory to enter draws nigh!
8O who is the King that in glory draws near?
The Lord, mighty Lord of the battle, is here!

9O gates, lift your heads! Ancient doors, lift them high!
The great King of glory to enter draws nigh!
10This great King of glory, O who can He be?
The Lord God of hosts, King of glory is He!
