Psalm 138

LM (88.88)
Julie Tennent

1I’ll praise You, Lord, with all my heart; before the “gods” I’ll praise impart;
2I’ll bow down toward Your Holy Place, and praise Your name for love and grace.

You have exalted o’er all things Your name and word which true life bring;
3The day I called, You answered me; You made me bold and strong to be.

4May all the kings of earth praise You, Lord, when they hear Your words so true;
5May they sing of the ways of God; the Lord’s great glory known abroad.

6For though the Lord on high is great, He yet regards our lowly state;
And looks on those who humble are, but proud He knows just from afar.

7Though I walk in the midst of strife, O Lord, You do preserve my life;
You stretch Your hand against my foes; Your right hand saves, You them oppose.

8The Lord’s own purposes and will, He will accomplish and fulfill;
Your love, O Lord, forever stands; forsake not works of Your own hands.
