Praise the Lord, O praise His Name, yes, praise Him, servants of the Lord;
You who stand within His house, and in His courts, O praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord, for He is good; sing praises to His Name alone;
For the Lord has chosen Jacob; Israel to be His own.
I know that the Lord is great, that He is greater than all gods;
And the Lord does what He pleases, in the heav’ns, on earth abroad.
He works in the depths of seas, and from earth’s end, He makes the clouds;
Sends the lightning with the rain; brings wind from out of His storehouse.
He struck down all Egypt’s firstborn, both of animals and men;
He sent signs in your midst, Egypt; against Pharaoh and his men.
He struck down the many nations; killed great kings of Canaan’s land;
Sihon, king of Amorites and Og the king of great Bashan.
He gave all their land to Isr’el, an inheritance for them;
Your name, Lord, endures forever; Your fame told each age again.
God will vindicate His people; have compassion upon them;
All the nations’ idols are but gold and silver, made by men.
They have mouths, but cannot speak, and they have eyes, but cannot see;
They have ears, but cannot hear; though they have mouths, they cannot breathe.
Those who make them will be like them; so will all who trust in them;
Praise the Lord, O house of Isr’el – praise the Lord, house of Aaron.
Praise the Lord, O house of Levi; praise the Lord, and Him revere;
Praise the Lord, all you who fear Him; bless the Lord who brought you near.
Praise be to the Lord from Zion, to the Lord who does there dwell;
The Lord who dwells in Jerus’lem; praise the Lord, all Israel.
