Rev. Chris Akers serves as the Executive Pastor at University Carillon United Methodist Church in Ovledo, FL.
Michael Andres serves as the Executive Minister at McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman, Oklahoma, where he has served since 2010. Before joining the McFarlin family, Michael was on staff at University UMC in San Antonio, Texas, for three years leading connection and discipleship ministries. He specializes in strategic communication and planning, systematic discipleship and vision alignment. In addition to serving at McFarlin, Michael is a member of the Executive Committee for the the Oklahoma Annual Conference’s New Faith Communities Ministry Team, and chairs the Heartland District’s Mission Strategy Team. A native Texan, Michael is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, husband to Katelyn and soon-to-be father of Max.
Thad Austin is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church, the William and Edie Enright Fellow at Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, and the Graduate Assistant at The Lake Institute on Faith and Giving. Thad also serves as the Managing Editor of the “Church Leader Collective” on church finance and administration for Seedbed publishing. Before coming to Indianapolis, Thad was appointed as the Executive Pastor at the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the second largest Methodist church in Middle Tennessee. In his free time, Thad loves to travel (41 countries and all 50 states, thus far), hike (has hiked the 1,100 miles between Pennsylvania and Georgia), sail, and spend time with friends.

Eric Burton-Krieger serves as the Pastor of Adult Discipleship at St. Luke’s UMC in Indianapolis. Prior to coming to Indianapolis Eric lived in Nashville, Tennessee, where he attended Vanderbilt Divinity School, and helped launch a church-wide small group ministry for Brentwood United Methodist Church. Eric love bowties, coffee, and his wife Meagan who will soon be a graduate of Vanderbilt University’s Doctorate of Education program with an emphasis in Higher Education Leadership and Policy.
Tim Catlett serves as the Managing Executive Pastor at the Apex Family of Faith Communities in Apex, NC.
Richard Clark serves as the Vice President External Relations and Chief Advancement Officer at Johnson University in Tennessee. He also serves as the President of Asprian Group, a consulting organization focused on helping faith-based leaders succeed. Richard is a doctoral candidate with the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. He also holds degrees from Cincinnati Christian University and Mid-Atlantic Christian University
Clark Denson is a building performance engineer at Smith Seckman Reid, Inc., a proud father of three children, and a member of First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, TN. Although he spends his days making the indoor environment of new and existing buildings healthier, more comfortable, and more energy efficient, he spends as much of his free time as possible in the outdoor environment hiking, camping, and relaxing.
Stephen Elmore serves as the Business Administrator at First United Methodist Church in Clermont, FL. Prior to coming to the church, Stephen served as the CEO of SXJ Marketing.
Dan Entwistle serves as the Managing Executive Director at Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, KS. He has been on staff at the church for more than twenty years starting first in youth ministry.
James Evans is a communications and media specialist working in Middle Tennessee near Nashville. A former newspaper reporter and editor, Evans has worked in the industry for nearly 20 years. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and minors in Business Administration and Political Science. He is an avid outdoorsman who hikes and camps frequently with his family and friends. Evans lives in Murfreesboro, Tenn., with his wife, Adrianne, and their children.
Rev. Chad Foster
Rev. Chad Foster is the Executive Pastor of First UMC in Lexington, KY where he focuses on whole-church administration in a new multi-site model and on leadership development with the rest of the pastoral team. He is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary (MDiv/MABS) and East Carolina University (BSBA/MBA). Chad is the co-editor of “1–3 John: A General Reader.” Chad, his wife Rev. Felsha Foster, and their son Josiah live in Lexington, KY.
Dr. David Gyertson, Ph.D., serves as the Dean of the Beeson International Center for Biblical Preaching and Church Leadership at Asbury Theological Seminary. In addition to Gyertson’s roles as consultant, executive coach, television host and producer, he is an ordained minister with extensive pastoral experience and pastoral leadership training experience. Gyertson has held senior leadership positions in religious, charitable and business environments, including international and cross-cultural settings. David Gyertson was born in Toronto, Canada. He holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University with a concentration in higher education administration and management. His undergraduate education (Spring Arbor University) is in Philosophy, Psychology and Religion and Master’s work (Michigan State University and the University of Toronto) is in student personnel administration, communications and comparative higher education. David’s wife, Nancy, is a retired elementary school teacher. David and Nancy have one daughter, Andrea, and two grandchildren, Emma and Justin.
F. Duke Haddad
Dr. F. Duke Haddad, Ed.D., CFRE, is executive director of development for The Salvation Army Indiana Division headquartered in Indianapolis, IN. He is also president of Duke Haddad & Associates, LLC fundraising consulting firm in Indianapolis, Indiana. A prolific writer, Dr. Haddad has contributed articles to national publications for over 30 years. Most recently he has written a weekly post for NonProfit PRO Magazine in Philadelphia, PA. He has received a number of awards from Governors, including the Sagamore of the Wabash Award in Indiana, Outstanding West Virginian Award in West Virginia, and Kentucky Colonel Award in Kentucky. Dr. Haddad also received a Distinguished Graduate Student Alumnus Award from Marshall University and membership in the Jasper Deahl Honor Society by West Virginia University. He was also named Fundraising Executive of the Year Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals in Indiana. Dr. Haddad was granted lifetime membership in Nu Lambda Mu Honor Society by Nonprofit Academic Centers Council and is an adjunct professor for Olivet Nazarene University. He is currently chairman of the St. George Orthodox Christian Church Parish Council in Fishers, Indiana.
Fred Halfpap is an experienced marketing leader having worked for several Fortune 500 banks and financial services companies. He has marketed everything from credit cards to tax preparation. He has a passion for serving and volunteering in the community and has served several nonprofits focused on alleviating poverty. Fred left corporate America to find a way to combine his experience with a position that is ministry focused. In August 2015, he joined the First United Methodist Church of Murfreesboro as the Executive Director. Here he focuses on stewardship, marketing and communications. Fred holds an MBA in Marketing and a BS in Finance.

Winterbourne LaPucelle Harrison-Jones
Winterbourne LaPucelle Harrison-Jones, MDiv, is pursuing postgraduate work at the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at IUPUI in Indianapolis, Indiana. A fourth-generation herald of the Gospel, Harrison-Jones holds degrees from Fisk University and Colgate Rochester Crozier Divinity School, and is now He is a scholar, ecclesial leader, and author. Harrison-Jones most recent book is: From Generation to Generation: A Commemorative Collection of African American Millennial Sermons from the Festival of Preachers 2010-2015.
Shannon Herlihy serves as the Executive Director at Christ Church United Methodist in Louisville, KY.
Leslie Hotzfeld serves as the Executive Director of Brentwood United Methodist Church in Brentwood, Tennessee. Her family has been part of the church for more than twenty years. Leslie is married to Rick, and they have two adult children-Wesley and Allie.
Dr. Phil Jamieson is a member of the East Ohio Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He has served as a pastor of churches as well as taught in a seminary. He is married to Jan and they are the parents of two children, Bethany and Mark. They are also the coauthors of Ministry and Money: A Practical Guide for Pastors and the 2012 United Methodist Guidelines for Finance Committees. Phil began his service at the Foundation in 2013.
Ed Jaramillo, a programmer by trade, became interested in Agile and helping teams increase productivity and happiness at work over 5 years ago. David P. King
David P. King is the Karen Lake Buttrey Director of the Lake Institute on Faith and Giving as well as Assistant Professor of Philanthropic Studies within the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. He arrived at IUPUI in 2014 after serving as Assistant Professor of Christian History at Memphis Theological Seminary in Memphis,TN. He earned his Ph.D. from Emory University with a specific interest in American religious history and its intersections with the growing field of world Christianity. His recent research focuses on the rise of evangelical relief and development NGOs, religious humanitarianism, and religion’s engagement with international affairs. He is passionate about research and teaching but as an ordained minister having served local churches and national faith-based organizations, he is also fueled by facilitating conversations with faith leaders, donors, and fundraisers (of all generations) around the intersections of faith and giving. Josef Klam serves as the Directing Pastor of Adult Discipleship at Chapelwood United Methodist Church in Ft. Myers, FL. Josef has been working with students for more than 17 years, and is currently the Pastor of Children and Youth Discipleship at Chapelwood UMC in Houston, Texas. Dr. John Koppitch serves the Director of Stewardship at Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Prior to this position, Dr. Koppitch served for more than 30 years as either a solo pastor or head of staff for three Presbyterian Churches in Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne. John has also served in a variety of capacities on the Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly levels of our denomination. He received his B.A. from Macalester College, an M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary, a D. Min. from Christian Theological Seminary, and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the Indiana University School of Philanthropy. Since moving to Indianapolis in 1982, John has been an active volunteer in the community, serving on the boards of Christamore House, Westside Community Development Corporation, WESCO, Hawthorne Community Center, the Martin Luther King Multi-Service Center, Westminster Neighborhood Ministries, and Christian Theological Seminary. He was a founding board member of the Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership. John is married and has two adult children. John’s hobbies include racquetball and Scottish Highland Games competitions.
Ryan Korstange is a student, teacher, father, and husband. He is currently researching both the way the origin of the human soul is described in early Christian and Jewish interpretative texts, and high impact pedagogical practices which will help improve student success in the college classroom.
Nancy Lange serves as the Executive Director of Ministries & Operations at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Formally a Director at the Lilly, Inc., Nancy is fueled by a commitment to helping people find hope for themselves and give hope to others.
Scooter Leonard serves as the Executive Director of St. James United Methodist Church in Montgomery, AL. Scooter is married to Nancy and they have a son, Josh, daughter-in-law, Katie, and the world’s greatest granddaughter, Ariadne, who live in Spring Hill, FL., and a daughter, Amanda, who lives in Orlando, FL and works at Disney World. Scooter was raised in Alabama and enjoys watching sports of all kinds but especially Alabama Football and Kentucky Basketball.
Andy Lett is the Founding Pastor of The Fountain UMC, a United Methodist church plant in Suwanee, GA that launched in March 2012. The Fountain began as a “parachute drop” with just two people. It is now a vibrant church that is connecting people who are disconnected from God and the church, and leading them into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Before starting The Fountain UMC, Andy planted a fast-growing worship community at Griffin First UMC called The Branch, which specialized in connecting unchurched people in the community. Andy received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Mercer University and a Master of Divinity Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. Bill McAlilly is the Bishop of the Nashville Episcopal Area of the United Methodist Church. He was elected to the episcopacy at the Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference in Lake Junaluska, NC in July 2012, and appointed to serve the Nashville Area, beginning his appointment to provide leadership to the Memphis and Tennessee Annual Conferences on September 1, 2012. Bill comes to the Nashville Area by way of the Mississippi Conference where he was most recently District Superintendent of the Seashore District. Bill has served in a wide variety of ministry settings in Georgia and Mississippi–from a small membership church in the Mississippi Delta to a new congregation in the suburbs of Memphis to a newly organized congregation in Madison, MS to a large membership congregation in Tupelo. Pam Piester serves as the Executive Director at Floris United Methodist Church in Herndon, VA. Pam’s responsibilities include directing all programmatic and business aspects of the church, including change management strategies, performance management, financial management, operational administration, facilities management, human resources, information technology, and communication productions. Pam graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and has completed a number of post-graduate courses, including economics, managerial and financial accounting, both general and business management, and project management. Additionally, she has completed a masters-level certification in organization development and is an Organization Development Certified Professional. Prior to joining the Floris UMC staff in 2008, Pam worked for more than 20 years in the financial services industry, with a focus on real estate lending. Pam is married to Matt Piester and they have three children, Hannah, Nicholas and Rebecca.
Bishop Rev. Dr. David Ramirez serves as the Field Director for Latin America. He oversees 10,000 churches in four Latin America Regions (Mexico, Central America, Brazil, and South America). Recently, Latin America has experienced the planting of 2,355 new congregations. Born in Argentina and a citizen of Chile, South America, David and Fernanda have been serving for the last six years as Church of God World Missions field director for Latin America. From 2008 to 2010, Ramirez served as the director for South America and from 2006 to 2008, he served as the administrative bishop for the South West Hispanic Region, USA. The Ramirezes established the South American Seminary in Quito, Ecuador (SEMISUD), where David served 14 years as president (1993-2006), and they pastored two local churches: founding the 1,000 member Capilla del Valle Church in Quito, Ecuador, and the Almagro Church of God. Ramirez holds a D.Min. from Asbury Theological Seminary (Beeson Scholar), M.Div. from the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, and two Honorific Doctoral degrees for his excellence in Christian Leadership. David is a member of the Church of God International Executive Council of Eighteen. David and his wife, Fernanda Snaidero (from Argentina), have three beautiful children.

Bill Reid is a career banker specializing in wealth management. Prior to his banking career, Bill practiced as a CPA for a national accounting firm and in private industry. He received a B.B.A. in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi and later graduated from the Securities Industry Institute at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Bill and wife Jenny are members of the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Most recently, he served as Chairperson of the Council of Stewards for his home church.
Deb Rice has 25+ years organizational development, human resource and strategic leadership planning experience within a wide variety of non-profit, faith-based and for profit organizations. She assists individuals, leaders and teams in the identification, development and implementation of efficient and effective strategies, processes and practices that align with and accelerate their desired outcomes. She has a M.A. in Christian Leadership, has completed graduate studies in Industrial Management and has a B.A. in Business Administration. Deb and her husband Jim reside in Kentucky. They have ten children between them, six of whom are married, and 20 grandchildren. Matthew Scott is an associate pastor of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Texas. A native of San Antonio, he is a graduate of Wake Forest University, where he studied entrepreneurship and finance, and of St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio, where he received his J.D. Matthew practiced estate planning and probate law before discerning a call to ministry. He graduated with an M.Div. from Duke Divinity School in Durham, N.C. He works extensively with laity, helping them hear the voice of God and step into their callings. He also loves to spend time with his family and play golf.
Rev. Miriam Seyler serves as the Pastor of Inviting Ministries at First United Methodist Church, Murfreesboro TN. A MS native who graduated William Carey College (University) with a Bachelor of Music Education degree, Rev. Seyler has been a TN resident for 25 years. After a 35-year career as a classical musician and educator, Miriam attended The University of the South School of Theology in Sewanee TN, earning a Master in Divinity degree. She has a passion for bridging the generations and cultures within the church.
Rev. Randy Shrauner serves as the Executive Minister at the Church of the Servant in Oklahoma City, OK. Randy was ordained an Elder in the United Methodist Church in 2008. Born and raised on his family’s farm and ranching operation in Southwest Kansas, Randy invested 20 years following his graduation from Oklahoma State University directing the business. Leaving the ranch behind, he entered Asbury Theological Seminary in the fall of 2001, earning a Master of Divinity in May of 2005. Rev. Shrauner is married, and the Shrauners have 4 grown children.
Kelly Smith, Executive Director of Operations at St. Luke’s UMC in Orlando, Florida, joined the staff in July, 1993. She was hired as the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor and is now the Executive Director of Support Ministries. Kelly is known around St. Luke’s as “the go to person” for just about anything you desire. If she does not know the answer she knows who does. In her current position she oversees the Support Team which consists of the following ministries: Membership, Finance, Events and Office Management, Human Resources, Information Technology, Technical Services, Communications and Facilities. She is the staff liaison for the Board of Trustees, the Committee on Finance, Staff Parish and Church Council. Kelly has been married to her husband Dave since 1981 and they have four children. They are empty nesters and enjoying this new phase in their life together while facilitating the Energetic Empty Nesters Cluster Group. She enjoys many outdoor activities, time working out with her husband and travel. One of the most outrageous things she has done is a tandem parachute jump out of an airplane. This was a birthday gift from her covenant group made up of St. Luke’s members. They have been meeting for over 10 years. This group has become an extension of her family.
Rev. Justin Snider serves as the Associate Pastor at St. James United Methodist Church in Danville, IL. He grew up in Tuscola, Illinois, and is married to the Reverend Miriam Snider. They have a son, Samuel, and a daughter, Katie. Justin received his education from Greenville College (’02) and Duke Divinity School (’06). He was appointed to Saint James UMC after serving five years as pastor of Emmanuel, Zion, and Armstrong United Methodist churches near Marshall, Illinois. During part of that appointment he served as a co-pastor with Miriam. Justin’s interests include include running, reading, traveling, hiking, biking, watching sports, and running some more. Justin is a fan of the Chicago Cubs, thus he has a theology of hope amidst long-suffering. Justin’s duties at Saint James include preaching, teaching, crafting ministries for young adults, helping to reach new generations of people, and, currently, overseeing youth ministries.
Sherri Swanson serves as the Executive Pastor at Woodschapel UMC in Lee’s Summit, MO. She has been married to my husband, Matt, for more than 24 wonderful years. They have two children. She enjoys running, taking long walks with my husband and spending time with her kids and friends. Sherri’s family has been a part of the Woods Chapel family for more than 20 years and part of the staff for more than 11 years.

Rev. Dr. Tom Tumblin, a member of Asbury Theological Seminary faculty since 1999, serves as Associate Provost for Global Initiatives. His role includes oversight of the church planting and global partnerships strategic goals for the seminary. Dr. Tumblin is a professor of leadership who teaches in the seminary’s Master of Divinity, Doctor of Ministry and MA in Christian Leadership degrees. His research interests include equipping the laity, ecclesiology, research design, organizational behavior and change leadership. For the decade prior to 1999, he served as associate pastor and then executive pastor at Ginghamsburg UMC near Dayton, OH. The church grew from 800 to 3000 in attendance and transitioned to its current 115 acre campus during that season. Tom is an elder in the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church where he served as a district superintendent from 2003 to 2008. His other professional associations include the International Leadership Association and the Academy for Religious Leadership. Tom and his wife Yvonne enjoy three daughters and they reside in Nicholasville, KY.
John Silkauskas serves as the Associate Pastor at Heritage UMC in Clearwater, Florida. He has a passion for time with the Lord, reaching the lost, growing and discipling the church, and equipping leaders. He has served in ministry for over fifteen years in churches and ministries across the nation and around the world. John also leads a non-profit organization that helps people create a life they love.
